Personal Brand Identity, Website Design & Development
About the Project
For Nandi Jordan, an artist whose work explores the intersection of personal narrative and Black cultural history, we created a visual identity system that reflects her critical yet imaginative approach. The personal brand design employs a timeless editorial aesthetic with a color palette of warm earth tones (echoing colors often found in her art), grounding the overall brand in both academic tradition and artistic expression.
To honor Jordan's work on representing Black life and history, we developed a typography system that pairs Freight Display by leading Black type designer Joshua Darden for her headlines with the contemporary Switzer for all supporting text. The resulting identity provides a sophisticated approach that is rooted in Nandi's artistic practice and research while creating a distinct foundation for her body of work.
